This suggestion resulted in numerous publications of his work in literary journals during the late 1990s including Heaven Bone, Hart, The Princeton Arts Review, Algonquin Quarterly, Snark, Fertile Ground, Outlet, Word on the Street, and the Orange SUNY college literary journal: The Orange Review, which Axel later became the editor of. In college, one of Axel's professors took interest in his writing and encouraged him to submit it. Axel grew up in New Hope, Pennsylvania and graduated from SUNY Orange in 1999.Īxel's early poetry was published in Highlights for Children, Sunshine at Home, and Now in New Hope Magazine. He attended special education from an early age. Axel was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey with Tourette syndrome. ![]()
